The time has finally come to register for the Yale Glee Club’s 160th Anniversary Reunion! We’re looking forward to a wonderful weekend with hundreds of fellow Glee Club alums here in New Haven this coming Sep. 30-Oct. 2. Registrations are due by Sep. 1 - we hope you can join us!
After such a long time apart, this year’s gathering promises to be one of the most memorable and meaningful in the Glee Club’s long tradition of friendship through song.
The fun will begin Friday evening with a very special concert featuring the internationally renowned vocal ensemble Chanticleer performing alongside the 2022-23 Yale Glee Club. On Saturday, there will be opportunities for rehearsing with both TTBB and SATB alumni groups during the day, followed by a gala concert in Woolsey Hall led by Jeffrey Douma and David Connell, an elegant cocktail reception, and a Singing Dinner with dancing in the spectacularly renovated Yale Commons. The reunion weekend officially ends with a Sunday morning Service of Celebration and a chance to sing Thompson’s Alleluia before we all part ways.
Throughout the weekend, there will also be opportunities to connect informally with YGC friends on and off campus, to share lunch in one of Yale’s residential college dining halls, and to connect with current students through the Yale Glee Club Student/Mentor exchange program, through which hundreds of YGC students and alums have formed enduring and fruitful relationships.
But most of all, we look forward to being together and to raising our voices in song!
We will keep everyone apprised on the University’s requirements around COVID vaccinations, testing, and masking for this event and we will also keep the Reunion website updated with the guidance as Reunion approaches. At this time, we anticipate that visitors will have to show proof of full vaccination and that we will be masked when singing.
